The Lodge is exclusively yours for the day.
With the venue consisting of two floors there is a lovely transition throughout your day. You can chose to have your ceremony in the Oakroom, wedding breakfast in the Lakeside room and make use of the flat grass area and grounds for your wedding photographs.

Licensed for both Civil Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships, you just need to book the Cardiff Registrars to conduct your ceremony for a date and time you wish to get married. We only ever hold one event at the Lodge on one day.
We have a proven team of dedicated and experienced staff at your service to fulfil all of your requirements for your special day.
We do two types of weddings here at the Lodge – bespoke weddings where you pay a venue hire for the chosen date or packages for certain weekday or off peak dates.
When hiring the Lodge, included as standard with our complements are:

With a bespoke wedding you would pick your date and secure it with a non-refundable deposit of 55% of the venue hire. You would then add on all your catering, drinks, accommodation, entertainment etc as you need.
If you are interested in the bespoke wedding, usually weekend dates, then follow the tariff sheet for the venue hire and use the menus and drinks list to aid your budgeting.
ALL BANK HOLIDAY WEDDINGS ARE CHARGED AT THE SATURDAY RATE.
PAYMENT OF A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF 55% OF THE VENUE HIRE IS REQUIRED WHEN BOOKING.
FULL PAYMENT OF BALANCE IS DUE 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT – 2 WEEKS TO PAY AFTER YOUR 2 MONTH FINAL MEETING.

January, February, March and November are our off peak season months.
April, May, June, July, August, September, October and December are our peak season months.
We do two types of packages –
Deluxe Lakeside Package for Monday to Thursday dates
Nova Scotia Package for off peak dates
These are all inclusive of everything you need as standard for your wedding with us at the Lodge. The non-refundable deposit amount for a package wedding is just £500!

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you host more than one wedding per day?
No – you will have exclusive use of the Lodge and lawn on your wedding day. However please note that the grounds and lake will remain open for other guests to access their accommodation and fishermen.
We do viewings mornings of weddings to show other couples wedding set ups, but do not allow people onsite 1 hour before wedding is due to start.
What time will we have access to the Lodge on the day of the wedding?
You and your suppliers may have access from 7am on the morning of the wedding. We will be here setting up the tables, chairs etc ready for these supplies to be set up on. If there is no wedding the day before you may be able to decorate then, although this depends right up to the day.
What time does the evening finish?
The bar will close and the music will stop at midnight. We recommend to get guests to arrange transport for 12:00 so they are not waiting around. If you haven’t arranged transport please see the taxi list behind the bar.
Do we need to book the registrar?
Yes it is your responsibility to book the registrar from Cardiff registry office, and the telephone number for them is 02920 871684. You need to organise for them to arrive for a date and time you wish to get married at. This does incur a fee which is separate from the Lodge. You can get married between 11am and 4pm at the Lodge.
Are we able to offer our guests a choice of wedding breakfast menu?
We offer a variety of set menu choices and are able to cater for children and special dietary requirements as requested. Our caterers are always happy to discuss bespoke packages to meet your individual needs. The caterers also can provide taster sessions at an additional cost.
Do you offer corkage?
You may choose to supply your own wine for your event or function. We do offer corkage for the following fees; 75cl bottle of still wine £9.75 and 75cl bottle of sparkling wine or champagne £11.75.
Is it necessary to offer guests a beverage on your wedding day?
It is not compulsory to offer a drink, but please refer to our drinks list if you would like to purchase drinks in preparation for your big day. The bar will be open one hour after the ceremony or from arrival to the Lodge if no ceremony.
Do we need to set up the room ourselves?
We provide a complimentary room dressing service for you and see in your deliveries on the day. Large decorative and ceiling items may incur a pre-set cost. All outside decorations are to be done by a member of the bridal party on the day of the wedding.
Do I need to order chair covers?
If you decided you would like to cover the chairs you will need to book one of our three designated suppliers; these are PAB Events, Sit N Pretty and Chair Covers and Bows. Please note that if you wish to cover the chairs on both floors, you will need to purchase accordingly as we do not move them between floors.
Do we need to order table decorations/flowers?
You will need to organise your own table decorations which can be delivered to the Lodge on the morning of the wedding, or drop them off 10am the day before if you wish your wedding coordinator to set them up for you. As part of the dressing service we can place these at your request.
Will you set up my wedding cake on the day?
As your cake is such an integral part of your day, we recommend that your supplier sets this up exactly how you would like it. We do however provide a selection of cake stands and a knife with our compliments, as well as a wooden easel for your table plan.
Do you allow candles?
We are happy for you to provide your own candles as part of your table decorations in the wedding breakfast room and for the ceremony in the daytime. They must be in suitable holders and must not be loose on the table. Also if you wish to place candles in other areas please discuss with the wedding coordinator. We ask that you change them to battery operative ones for the evening.
Do you allow firework and Chinese lanterns?
Due to our location we are unable to permit the use of fireworks or Chinese lanterns in or around grounds.
Can we provide our own evening entertainment?
We are happy for you to provide your own entertainment, as long as they can provide all of the necessary documents to be able to perform on our premises. We are also able to provide a DJ should you wish. Please ask one of our coordinators for further details.
Is throwing of confetti permitted?
Confetti can be used in the designated lawn area but must be biodegradable.
Do we need to pay a deposit?
Yes, if you wish to proceed with a booking we need this within 2 weeks otherwise we cannot hold the date for you. We require 55% of the venue hire as a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. Wedding packages will require a £500 deposit, please speak to a member of staff for further details on these packages.
Do you provide accommodation?
We have lakeside log cabins situated on the grounds – three guest cabins and two bridal suites of which you can hire one bridal (as we alternate between weddings to give you a longer stay). We also have 7 newly built subterranean apartments situated in the bank and the Nova Scotia apartment above the Lodge. Check in for the guest accommodation is 2pm on the day and check out is 10:30am the following day.
Will there be any fisherman on the day of the wedding?
The grounds are open for fishing all year round.
Can we put a tab behind the bar and how would we pay?
This can be arranged prior to the wedding with our bar manger. We do have a card machine on the bar with a minimum spend of £10 per transaction. We will ask all your bar requirements in our planning meeting such as guest ales and must have items etc.
